released September 15th and 16th 2008 has been announced by Robert on thecure.com.

The Cure - NEW ALBUM & SINGLES RELEASE!

The Cure plan to release four A & B side singles, one each month starting May 13th, leading up to the release of their thirteenth studio album, as yet untitled, which will be out on Suretone/Geffen Records September 13th. It will be the band's first album of new music since 2004’s self titled album The Cure.
Why the 13th of each month? The forthcoming album is The Cure’s thirteenth studio album... A lucky number indeed!
First single “The Only One” (released May 13th) includes the b-side “NY Trip”;
Second single “Freakshow” (released June 13th) includes the b-side "All Kinds Of Stuff"; neither b-side will appear on the album. Both tracks were produced by Robert Smith and Keith Uddin.
The new single will be available from various record stores online - including Amazon and HMV. Available on CD and Online mp3 download.
Extra Cure Show Date!

The Cure have added a smaller second L.A. show to their world tour. The extra show is on Simons birthday - June 1 2008 at The Shrine Auditorium.
Tickets go on sale 19 April at 11am.

5th March 2008 the Spanish 'City of the Arts and Sciences' will welcome musical icons Robert Smith & The Cure as the headline act of a unique free MTV open-air concert. This event will be genuinely global, with a potential audience of 207 million people around the world. The complete bill is to be announced by MTV in the next couple of weeks.
The Cure donate autographed guitar for West Memphis 3 auction

The Cure will be auctioning a customised Schecter RS-1000 acoustic guitar to raise money for the defense fund of three wrongfully - imprisoned Arkansas men. Damien Echols (who is on death row), Jason Baldwin, and Jessie Misskelley, Jr. - also known as the West Memphis Three (www.wm3.org) - were convicted for murdering three elementary school children in 1994. This special guitar was not only designed to lead singer and guitarist Robert Smith's specifications—maple body with spruce top, maple and rosewood neck and specially designed white pearl moon and star inlays - but it was also used in the studio by the musician this year. The guitar is signed by all four-band members - Robert, Simon Gallup (bass), Jason Cooper (drums), and Porl Thompson (guitar); and features a unique Cure logo drawn by Thompson, who is responsible for the majority of the band's artwork down the years. It also includes a "Free the West Memphis Three" message written by Smith.

Causes 1 is a limited edition charity CD to benefit Darfur, which includes exclusive and rare tracks donated by Animal Collective, The Black Keys, Bloc Party, Bright Eyes, Cornelius, The Cure, David Sylvian, Death Cab for Cutie, The (International) Noise Conspiracy, The Shins remixed by Clint Mansell, Spoon, Teargas & Plateglass, Thievery Corporation and Travis. 100% of the proceeds from the sale of this CD will go to three non-profit organizations: Doctors Without Borders, Human Rights Watch, and Oxfam America.
